Just checking in.

Just one of those routine posts, so people have something to read than the ipod charger's status. I made it, by the way, but surprisingly, I'm not gonna be needing it.

Life has been good. Sure I've had problems, but would I be able to say 'good' if there were none? Nope, I'm saying 'good' because there have been problems and I have been able to move past them. In a nutshell, first I found out that I couldn't go on the trip to Malaysia (just in the sake of context for some, its called WOW) because I was chosen to represent Singapore on the Asia Pacific Informatics Competition and it falls on the same date. This was at first a happy news, since I was kind of iffy on going already (I mean, Malaysia? Been there already) and this competition was a once in a lifetime opportunity. But then they told me that Since the bookings had been already made, I was not going to get my money back. Man, I was crushed.
But, I've moved past it. Money is not going to be able to get me an opportunity like this in the future, so I decided to skip WOW. Good news is that I'll at least be able to catch up on my extra-curricular stuff.

Had leg cramps (serious ones) for the last 3 days, but they're starting to wear off. Overworked my body in PE hoping for a gold, but with the cramps I'm not sure I can keep up the performance throughout the rest of the tests, next week. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Now this does not mean it was all bad. There were tons of good stuff in there too. First of all, I was able to get that PC I've been working on for a week to boot. Man, It's a great feeling when you finally see the boot menu come up, instead of the system beeping twice and crashing on me after BIOS. Running like a dream now, on Maverick Meerkat, and even though it's on an Athlon, its not too slow.

Wait, context. Well, I've had this ARM development board sitting in my closet for a couple months now, as I was unable to communicate with it because no laptop or PC I had access to had a serial or parallel port. But then, I found a dusty old motherboard in my CCA locker, probably older than me, and I thought, Hey! This could work... It was a really hard job finding and matching legacy parts, but its finally paid off. I guess at least I'll have something to do for the WOW period :)

Over and Out.
