This time, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there were two men. No, not two ordinary men. These men were extraordinary in the fact that they were exactly alike. They did not look alike, nor were they brothers in blood, but they were so marvelously alike in the personalities, that it was as if they had but one mind. And so alike were they, that between them, words were superfluous. They did not need to tell each other what they were thinking, because they knew that their thoughts were the same.
These men were also extraordinary in the things they thought and did. They discovered the underlying vanities of the world together and were both thrilled and horrified by it, horrified that this was the world they had to live in, thrilled that it was world they could exploit. But they were not bad men, mind you. They were simply men of a certain amount of moral flexibility, something that eludes most men, who had fallen upon the one truly great secret of the world : The subservience of men. They realized that all around them, the mindless masses were waiting to be led, like sheep into their pen. They realized that unlike them, most other men go through accepted frameworks and religious practices, even find solace in god, simply because they could not think of anything else. And these were the men they saw every single day in parades, wars, concerts and offices filled endless rows of cubicles.
This drew them mad with joy. They realized, for once, that they were indeed ‘special’. Indeed, there were men like them, but not all of them lacked a conscience, not all of them had the company of another man who understood your every thought, held your deepest desires as his own. Not out of ‘love’, or ‘friendship’ or ‘empathy’, or any other word they held meaningless, but because it was inceived and conceived in his very own mind. This is when they set out to conquer the world, and here begins their journey, their travel through the mundanities of modern society, piercing through even the longest of social farces, in their quest to conquer, control and rule.
